Day two as a family...

We are learning. Nap times and tantrums and sick kids.  This is a crash course in parenting times two.

Both girls have a little upper respiratory infection going on.  They've both been given antibiotics and cough syrup so hopefully it will clear up.  Olivia in particular is miserable.. and she only wants me!

Not feeling good makes mornings hard.  It's all a battle until we sit down to breakfast.  Then everyone perks up!

Today we traveled to Kaifeng where Olivia was born.  We applied for her passport and visited her orphanage.  Emily was a great sport and hung out with Daddy!

The orphanage vist was..... awful. I'm glad we went so that Olivia can have closure.  She was a champ, no crying, still wanted me.  She's pretty popular apparently and all the nannies rushed to say hello.  One in particular loved her dearly and wanted to hold her.  It was really hard for me to let that happen but i did.  We both cried.  She loved Olivia very much, I could see that for sure.  It's a beautiful place all in all, It's just that it's SOOOO sad to see all these littles that dont have mommies or daddies.  They reach for you and oh my gosh you WANT to reach for them.  I was a hot MESS this day so please ignore the terrible pictures.... nobody looks good when they've been crying non stop.

This is Olivia's "grandmother"She took care of her her entire life. She promptly fixed her a proper bottle when I walked in.  They really make their bottles HOTTT, like i could barely hold it hot, and the kids suck it down! Sheesh!

This is Olivia's Nanny.  She adored Olivia.  it was very hard for her to say goodbye.

This is Olivia's crib.

The trip was surely long and everyone napped here and there.
Somebody likes to run around in her birthday suit!

Emily was just waiting to settle in!

It was an emotionally stressful day.  I'm very glad it's over.  Please pray for the girls being sick.  Pray that the meds will do their thing and they'll feel better, i hate that they feel bad... so much!!

Tomorrow will bring some down time and most importantly a leisurely morning.  Thank the Lord for that! We are settling in bit by bit and just look forward to the progress each day! Thanks for lifting us up!
