Medical Evaluation

Wow... good thing medical appointment only lasted until 11:30, I don't think we could've handled any more!
This is the clinic where all people immigrating to the USA have to get checked out. EVERY person in China that wants to come to the US, has to go through this clinic.  The US Consulate only accepts exams from this specific place, it's actually across the street from the US Consulate.  There were many people but Adoptive Families get to cut to the front of the line!

Oh Man, these exams did NOT go over well with the girls.  IT was torture to watch!!

The absolute worst part was Emily's TB Test.  Any child 2 and older has to have one.  They do not allow parents in the room for any reason.  Two nurses took her from us and she lost it! ... uhm... so did her parents :-).  I hated for her to be taken from us like that b/c she doesnt understand.  we stood outside the door and waited.  She settled down pretty quickly after they brought her out. Amazing what a little snack will do.  She was SO brave!

And now i understand why there is a wine vending machine in the lobby.  Unfortunately you have to have a special card to purchase one or I sure might have! Whew.  What a day!

We came back to the room and Rob headed out to WalMart with another Dad.  We are getting low on diapers and other baby stuff.  The girls and I had lunch in the room and now they're napping.  This evening we're going on a Pearl River Cruise.  There's lots of lights and such, people that have done it before say it's a must do so we will join the group for a fun night.  A fellow adoptive parent is here adopting his 14 year old son.  Today is his 14th birthday.  That may not sound like anything exciting to you but the amazing thing is... Orphans age out of the system at 14 and are un-adoptable after that.  He was adopted officially a few days ago, so it's a special birthday to celebrate with his forever family.  Tonight we will sing and celebrate on the boat!

More pictures to follow from the cruise but in case it's late and the internet is slow, I thought i'd post while I had a moment.

I tell ya, this is an indescribable experience.  It's so wonderful. So hard.  So amazing!

Thanks for following along, for the prayers, cheers, and love! It's getting us through!

With Love and Happiness,
The Taylors
